OMC'S FALL '23 RECAP

OUT MY CLOSET'S FALL 2023 RECAP

This fall season has proven to be exceptionally impactful for Out My Closet (OMC), as we remained steadfast in our commitment to providing crucial, life-sustaining resources to our unhoused and under-resourced LGBTQ+ clients.

Through our signature pop-up shops in vibrant locations like NYC and South Florida, we were able to extend our reach and touch the lives of those in need. These events not only offered essential items but also created a supportive and inclusive space for our community.

OMC POP-UPS: In addition to our monthly POP-UPS at New Alternative and our quarterly POP-UPS at Marsha's House, OMC added Northwell's Health Center for Trans Care in Long Island, NY.

Additionally, we conducted an impromptu ๐Ÿ“ธ photoshoot with clients who gathered these clothing resources from our last POP-UP-SHOP at Marshaโ€™s House, an LGBTQ+ shelter in the Bronx.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ It is expected that offering clothing options that align with their gender identity and expression will positively impact their self-esteem, reduce gender dysphoria, and foster a stronger sense of belonging and identity.

๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ This, in turn, may lead to improved mental health outcomes, increased resilience, and a greater likelihood of seeking and benefiting from supportive services.
