EMPOWERMENT

OMC'S QUEER MEN'S EMPOWERMENT GROUPS
OMC’S “EMPOWERMENT” monthly social support groups for queer men offers a vital lifeline in reducing the isolation and alienation. Our groups provide a safe and empathetic environment where individuals can openly share their experiences, emotions, and fears without judgment on a spectrum on many issues and entails fun filled engaging activities.
October's topic focused on “GAY MEN AND BODY IMAGE” and covered topics such as body dysmorphia, eating disorders, hook-up apps and objectivation and our relationship with HIV. We allowed our men to build camaraderie with interactive games and deep personal conversation and a full one hour personal training session, all conducted in a safe queer space.

OMC's Empowerment MSM Group delves into crucial issues each month, and this time, we focused on tackling holiday depression within the queer community. From battling anxiety to the pain of feeling 'othered' during family gatherings, we addressed it all.
November's Friendsgiving Group
Topics ranged from navigating relationship terminations to facing the holidays single, coping with loss, and managing economic challenges. Our goal is to create a safe space for support and understanding.

Deep Hearted Conversations
Amidst these discussions, we made time for connection with a heartwarming community potluck and Friendsgiving event. Together, we shared stories, strength, and a sense of belonging. Let's continue supporting each other!
